The Story...

In the last few days, I choose to upgrade my Asus EEEPC 900 to EEEBUNTU NBR 3.0 (based on Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop Jaunty).

After the installation, it was unbelievable how it worked badly...

The mouse pointer was tilting (as the mouse ball was unclean since 1990... Amiga like style!)...

Anyway all the system was very very very SLOOOOWWWWWWwwwww.

Oh My God!!!!!

Well, the solution was behind the corner... as far as 2-3 hours of googling!!! (Sigh!) Here it is!!!

The problem was the EEEPC 900 i915 video card related to the driver included into Jaunty!

If you like, you can find more info here:

Here we go... The solution!!!

It was Very Very simple! I need to revert to 2.4 Intel driver according to !

How to... Step by step!

Press Alt+F2 and write xterm then the following:

1) sudo su (...and insert your password)

2) vi /etc/apt/sources.list

3) (copy&paste the following into the file, than press ESC key and write :wq)

deb jaunty main

deb-src jaunty main

4) sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver 0xce90d8983e731f79
5) sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel-2.4

Reboot the system! (you can write reboot into the console)

Last reccomendation!

Before rebooting
upgrade to 2.6.29-1 Kernel by typing:

apt-get install linux-headers-2.6.29-1-netbook linux-image-2.6.29-1-netbook

Anyway If you need some help, write me! :)
